Hidden among the trees just steps from the water, Coorie is a striking contemporary lodge designed to sit snugly within its surroundings. Clad in black timber and sculpted with craft, it feels both bold and deeply connected to the landscape.

Designed by Cameron Webster Architects and built by our sister company, nest, Coorie is an upside-down house — living spaces above to capture the views, bedrooms below for quiet and rest. The result is a feeling of living within the trees, with the loch always present.

Upstairs, a light-filled open-plan space brings together kitchen, dining and living areas. A wood-burning stove anchors the room, panoramic windows draw the eye outward, and a window seat offers a front-row view of shifting weather and water. Sink into the sofa, an armchair or the oversized beanbag and let the day fade.

Large patio doors open onto a covered balcony, angled perfectly for loch and mountain views. Sit here whatever the weather, wrapped in blankets, watching the light change over Ben Venue.

Below, two cosy bedrooms offer calm retreat: a king with en-suite shower, and a twin across from a second shower room.

Outside, a long grassy garden leads to a private lochside deck — ideal for swimming, launching a SUP or simply sitting close to the water immersing yourself in nature.

The hot tub sits quietly nearby, alongside a fire pit and barbecue. As darkness falls, stars take over.

Coorie sits next to the award-winning Venachar Lochside venue, and now and then you may glimpse a wedding unfolding — a gentle reminder that this is a place people choose to mark special moments.
